[NEWS] Wonder Girls, “I still remember when Boyfriend’s Youngmin and Kwangmin were still a kid”

The group, Wonder Girls, revealed their relationship with the group, BoyFriend.

On Sunday the 18th, through the radio broadcast of KBS 2FM “Jeon HyunMoo’s Music Square”, Wonder Girls’ Sohee and Sunye talked about members of Boyfriend, Kwangmin and Youngmin.

During the broadcast, Sohee said “Yesterday, for a music broadcasting, I saw the boy idol group Boyfriend.” She continued, “Back when I was young, I remember seeing a pair of male twins who were trainees at our company. They looked familiar, so I asked myself recalling ‘Who are they?’”

They later pointed out that it was twin brothers Youngmin and Kwangminwho has debuted with Boyfriend that has once lived under JYP Entertainment as trainees.

Sunye said, “For the first time, I have done a lot of thinking,” and continued, “I really remember back when I was a kid and it still remains in my memory that it just occurred to me instantly thinking of how tall they would be and how a lot more bigger they would be after they debuted,” which caused laughter.

And added, “I also think that it’s been a while since their debut and I don’t think there are any circumstances that it is surprising [that they debuted]. They did not give up nor get tired on climbing the staircase to upgrade their level* therefore, I want to congratulate them.“

[NEWS] Boyfriend members sign their autographs with BB cream

Members Youngmin, Kwangmin, and Donghyun of rookie group Boyfriend attended a product launch event on November 9th for skincare brand Lab Series.

The brand showcased some new products they’ll launching early next year, which included a 3-piece skin-brightening set, as well as a BB cream for men and max LS water lotion.

In honor of their new BB cream, Lab Series hosted a special event that had celebrities sign their name with BB cream instead of ink. In the above photo, the Boyfriend members hold up their personal autographs signed on black paper.

SISTAR‘s Hyorin shared a funny selca taken with two Boyfriend members, Minwoo and Kwangmin.

On November 4th, Hyorin tweeted, “Don’t touch my pizza! lol ‘Don’t Touch My Girl‘ is popular these days, right?”

Since SISTAR and Boyfriend are under the same company, Hyorin is showing some support for her labelmates, who are currently promoting, “Don’t Touch My Girl”. As for the photo, she made fans laugh by the faux angry face and half-raised hand, as if she were ready to smack away the offender.

[JO TWINS] ‘Boyfriend’ twins talk about their ressemblance to Kim Hyun Joong

Twin brothers Kwangmin and Youngmin of rookie idol group ‘Boyfriend‘ have been highly praised for their resemblance to singer Kim Hyun Joong.

Ever since their debut, they’ve been dubbed as the ‘Kim Hyun Joong twins’. In fact, before they were singers, the boys guested on an SBS program, whose panelists pointed out that the boys looked very similar to the SS501 star. Kim Hyun Joong himself acknowledged that the twins did look like him, which drew even more interest from netizens and viewers alike.

During a recent interview with enews, Kwangmin and Youngmin remarked that those who felt they resembled their senior were “too kind“. “We saw him recently on a music program, and he was awesome. We thought to ourselves that we wanted to be like him in the future,” they said.

The twins continued, “Kim Hyun Joong is someone with a very strong aura, as well as a great stage presence. We want to follow in his footsteps, being loved and acknowledged not only in Korea, but overseas as well.”

The two admit that they’re “still lacking in a lot of ways“, and that they continue to receive dance and vocal instruction from time to time. They will always work hard to develop as an artist. Perhaps in time, they’ll get to see the day where their juniors will cite Kwangmin and Youngmin as their mentors.

[NEWS] Boyfriend lifts spirits in Thailand with a concert!

Idol group Boyfriend flew to flood-damaged Thailand recently to lend support to their fans.

On October 26th, the boys threw a concert in Siam Paragon, Bangkok, which drew 2,500 female fans. The day before, they visited Dong Muang International Airport, which currently acts as a shelter for many flood victims. They added to the flood relief by volunteering and sending in supplies.

Starship Entertainment revealed, “Through this concert, we want to help Thailand’s flood victims and lend hope and strength to the people. Though Boyfriend’s strength is small, they joined with the heart to help. We thank the warm hospitality of their Thai fans, and we will keep the flood recovery in our thoughts.”

[NEWS] Boyfriend feels they’ve become more masculine with their comeback

They debuted only a few months ago in April, but Boyfriend is already showing signs of maturity with their recent “Don’t Touch My Girl” comeback.

Siting down for an interview with Star News, leader Donghyun stated, “Our debut stage was nerve-wracking, but I think we feel a lot more at ease now. We’ve been hearing that we’ve gotten a lot more masculine and tough. Do you think this is enough to be a dependable boyfriend?”

The members have undergone a huge image change. Instead of flashing his signature smile,Kwangmin now opts to speak with his strong gaze instead. “I’ve cut my hair shorter and practiced making masculine facial expressions every day,” he revealed.

Donghyun added, “We even bulked up for the album. I think our fans will be quite surprised to hear that we have muscles now.”

Recently, they’ve been earning attention from fans overseas. Japanese fans flew in to support the boys’ comeback stage, and more and more fans are beginning to visit them at their rehearsal studio. Considering how they haven’t promoted overseas yet, the attention is still foreign to them.

The group revealed, “We were really surprised to see fans from Japan, China, and Thailand at our fan signing. Online, we noticed a lot of fans from South America and the Middle East as well. Just the mere thought of becoming Hallyu stars excite us.”

[NEWS] Boyfriend to Meet Thailand Bestfriends in Bangkok

Boy group Boy Friend debuted back in May with “Boyfriend”, securing a strong international as well as a domestic fanbase. The group, having recently returned to the stage with their comeback track “Don’t Touch My Girl”, will finally meet their Thai fans.

According to Starship Entertainment via Boy Friend’s Official Facebook Page, the group will be present in Bangkok, Thailand on October 25-26. On October 26, Best Friends will be able to see Boy Friend appearing at Bangkok’s Parc Paragon, the same venue as that of the press conference for SM True.

The particular Facebook update spoke of the boys’ excitement for the event, while also drawing attention to the recent severe downpours in Thailand and expressing their wishes for a quick recovery.

Youngmin: We feel more free on the stage. At first, working with those cameras is so exhausting. We looked so unnatural because of we were full of things to worry about. We also have to practice a lot in the mirror

“School friends of the members of Idol group Boyfriend which has gained a lot of popularity because of their new track “Don’t Touch My Girl expressed their support for their activities.”

On the 17th of October, Boyfriend attended an interview by Editorial Asia. After their exams have ended, the 4 members who are still in high school, Youngmin, Kwangmin, Minwoo and Jeongmin talked about their school life.

Youngmin said, “Because our daily schedule is very packed, we didn’t have time to study well, so I couldn’t answer many of the questions.” followed by Kwangmin who said, ”I try my best to work hard whenever I’m in school, but because of our packed schedules, I’m absent a lot.”

Minwoo commented that “My friends in school help me sort out the important points and help me study during the exam period because I’m always absent from school.” He also added that “Sometimes my friends would request signatures from me, they also invited me to attend many activities related to the performing arts.”

On the other hand, on the 6th of October, Boyfriend has officially released their second single album “Don’t Touch My Girl” and has started their promotional activites. Boyfriend has performed a mature-sounding song and displayed a lot of charisma, wavering the hearts of many girls.

According to Boyfriend’s agency, "The song has pure and emotional lyrics but the dance moves are powerful and disciplined. Boyfriend’s performance is drawing a lot of attention".

[NEWS] Boyfriend reveals that their bunk beds collapse on them constantly

6-member rookie group Boyfriend recently revealed a situation that almost caused a delay in their album’s release.

Sitting down for an interview with Newsen, the boys went into some details about their preparation process for their 2nd mini-album “Don’t Touch My Girl”. “The album almost wasn’t released on time,”they shared.

Leader Donghyun explained, “I was sleeping in our dorm when I heard something crashing down in a half-asleep state. Then something fell down on top of my face and body… I opened my eyes out of surprise but it was so dark I couldn’t see anything, and my face was hurting… I first thought maybe it was sleep paralysis, but it had actually been the top bunk bed crashing down.” 

At the time, Donghyun had been sleeping on the bottom level of the bunk bed while Youngmin slept on the top. Donghyun continued, “I was worried that our comeback might be delayed. However, luckily, I got away with only scratches and bruises on my face… I was able to calm down after the initial shock.” 

The other members blurted out that this wasn’t the first time they had an incident like this. They stated, “But this wasn’t the first time. This happened to Minwoo when Jeongmin was sleeping on the top bed.” Youngmin added, “Yesterday, I was climbing into bed to sleep but it almost crashed down again, scaring me.” Despite the uncertainty they must face every night, the members smiled cheerfully as they stated, “We’ll try to think of ourselves lucky for it could have been a lot worse.” 

Boyfriend is currently in the midst of promotions for “Don’t Touch My Girl”. The members expressed their confidence about their new song, stating, “The beat is fast and the song feels exciting, however the lyrics are sad. We sang this song in the way only Boyfriend could, so we think people will find this refreshing to listen to.”

To celebrate their 2nd Single Album "Don't Touch My Girl", Boyfriend announced on their official fan cafe that they are planning a special event for the fans.
